Layton Blaylock is an award winning director and cinematographer.  With an extensive background in feature films, documentaries, TV, and informational films, Layton is extremely versatile.  He is devoted to his craft, dedicated to the task, and has good communication skills. His documentary Art From the Streets screened at over 30 film festivals around the world and won 10 awards.  Layton’s most recent doc, Community First, A Home for the Homeless, had its world premiere at SXSW in 2019 and began its three year national PBS run in 2021.

Layton is a member of IATSE Local 600. In 2008, Layton was honored by the International Cinematographer’s Guild with the prestigious Emerging Cinematographers Award for his work as director of photography on the short film Spring Cleaning. Layton has been honored with several awards for his work over the course of his career.

Layton has shot a multitude of promotional and informational films for various corporations and institutions such as: Dell Computers, American Heart Association, ESPN, Houghton, Mifflin, Harcourt Publishing, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, IBM, University of Texas Medical School, Texas Department of Health, and Texas Water Development Board, and Texas Department of Commerce to name just a few.

Blaylock is a founding partner of Inferno Films and a graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in Radio-TV-Film.
